Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin which mainly affects the scalp causing itchy, round, red rashes and sometimes patches of hair loss.
Although it is most common in children it can also affect adults. Ringworm is treated by anti-fungal medication and it may take up to two months to get rid of it, so be sure to see your doctor.
To avoid spread of ringworm be sure not to share hats, clothes, towels and combs. Ringworm may also be spread by cats and dogs.
